As much as I'd like to and even try to pretend that everything is fine by immersing myself in hands-on-things that i used to thoroughly enjoy, I Can't act like everything is fine;
My brain simply will not switch off to what I had read or watched before partaking in any previously enjoyable activity;
I guess the psychobabblers would label this new-to-I condition as PTSD, Toxic Shock Syndrome, Shell Shock or even Battle Fatigue but I put it down to simply having too-bloody-much Situational Awareness;
They say that Ignorance is Bliss and whilst I have always held this little ditty to be true, never before has it rang more true;
Seems to I, from outside looking in, that the sleep-walking and happily clueless among us are once again having the time of their lives even as family, friends, colleagues and neighbours are leaving this mortal coil in droves...and other family, friends, colleagues and (former) neighbours are 'living' in tents, vans, carparks or stairways at a rate never before seen in this 'Lucky Country';
Something appears seriously wrong with the cognitive functioning of a great many 'people'....then again, perhaps it is I that has some neuronal issues as I struggle to find a regular semblance of thy former happy-go-lucky, industrious and creative self;

Great comment, Mark! We are suffering a form of PTSD, that’s for certain. We’ve learned so much about the human condition over the last 4 years and it’s mighty difficult unraveling and making sense of what’s been discovered. It’s like a real life psychological horror movie. Most of my personal trauma comes from eavesdropping on ABC talkback radio (I know I probably shouldn’t do this, as it’s not particularly good for my health or mental wellbeing), but anyway… they had this financial “expert” in, giving life hack tips on handy ways to make that little extra income in these troubled economic times.
One tip he gave was to rent out a section of your backyard to those who’ve unfortunately found themselves living in a caravan. He said many are doing this now and that it’s a great opportunity to… not only help those in need, but to make some extra income out of “otherwise wasted space.” Even though he said the words “pre & post Covid” around a thousand times throughout the course of the segment … not once did anyone make the scantest mention of what exactly Covid or the Pandemic in general, may have had to do with the dire situation so many find themselves in.
I-Man(e) as in "I'm a Man" couldn't be any clearer with this signalin' (nobuddy on earth wins a medal an' sticks it OVER their eye...) so the laffs on us -- or those that took the bait at least. HE gives the ol' Eye of Horus to show where he's at, collects the gold (that'd be the big pot of it under his con"man" rainbow....) and laywers-up quick, ready ta sue anyone sez he ain't a woman... so folks'll think twice 'bout challenging the next guy that tries the same swindle....
